Our February 2009 production of Puss in Boots raised £2000 for local charities
Puss in Boots

Frampton Footlights is a well established amateur dramatic society. We present a major production every year, usually in February or March, alternating pantomimes with plays, and we often organise smaller productions at other times of the year.

Over the past 20 years we have raised many thousands of pounds for local and national charities; our present fund-raising efforts are focussed on supporting much-needed improvements to our village hall.

Most of our present members are drawn from the 400 or so inhabitants of the Parish of Frampton, but we are very pleased to welcome new members from any of our surrounding villages.

Frampton Footlights is a member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.

AGM 2010

Frampton Footlights AGM took place in the Sheridan Room on Tuesday 18th May. Seventeen members attended with a further seven sending their apologies, reflecting the welcome level of support that Footlights currently enjoys.

It has been another very successful year for Footlights. The Artsreach promotions of Tess of the D’urbervilles, Swingers in Suspenders and 20,000 Leagues under the Office, realised profits of £90, £89 and £52 respectively. Footlights own productions of the Autumn Revue and Tomb with a View were both very well attended and realised profits of £345 and £1,127 respectively. However, the latter amount does not include any charge for hire of the village hall, which would normally work out at around £600. Footlights agreed with Village Hall Committee that there would be no such charge, but instead they would pay for and install the new village hall loudspeaker system. This is now up and running.

The current bank balance stands at £2832, but the price of the loudspeaker system (c.£800) has yet to be deducted.

A new Constitution was tabled and duly signed by all those present. A list of Rules was also introduced and agreed.

Michael Wright retired as chairman, having completed his two years in office. Michael Elliott was elected in his place. Pam Wren was re-elected as secretary and Michael Wright was elected as treasurer. Committee members elected were Jackie Wilcox, David Hooper, Muriel Bryant, Malc Potter and Becky Moreton

Footlights owns a huge collection of costumes, created by village ladies for the many pantomimes produced over the past 25 years. These were the subject of an exhibition - Pantomime Extravaganza - which filled the village hall in May 2008
